This minor release included fixing the product variations manual menu ordering and product attribute permalinks, redesigned the Marketplace section, added local currency formatting support and inclusion of the updated WooCommerce Blocks 5.6.0 and 5.7.0 and the WooCommerce Admin 2.6.0. In addition, backwards compatibility continues and one hook added.

On an added note, there was an important patch release following the 5.7 release.

This security patch was released to address a server configuration setup used by some hosts, which under the right conditions may make some analytics reports publicly available. Make sure and check out the post for further details on WooCommerce Developer Blog.

In this fix release, it addressed the redirect (Insecure) download method to also support absolute file paths when allowed, added filters to get new hidden option in the admin, fixed the bocks infinite recursion on the attribute filter and the product search displaying incorrectly.

WooCommerce 5.8.0 Beta 2

5.8 Beta 2 was just announced with one notable change, it includes an updated bundled version of WooCommerce Admin to 2.7.0 RC 1.

An Acquisition

The acquisition scene is rolling right along in the WordPress space. Follow any WordPress news site and you will see the latest news. And although any WordPress acquisition can have some effect on a Woo shop, I am not here to keep you updated on this constant changing news, but you can always get a nice glimpse of what has happened on the Post Status Acquisition and Investments Tracker.

But if they are tied into Woo more directly, I will certainly keep you updated. For example, WooCommerce has recently acquired SomewhereWarm. First off, you gotta love that name. Secondly, as a Woo builder in the space since the beginning, they have found the perfect home at Woo. Congrats to Woo and Manos and his team at SomewhereWarm
